Facebook Hashtags Successful or Unsuccessful?

 It’s already more than a month when Facebook officially announced ‘Hashtags’ feature (12th June 2013) but it is still not much in use. With the coming of Hashtags on Facebook, many digital marketers forecasted the new feature as a threat for Twitter. Somehow, Twitter is still the best when it comes to Hashtag Promotion of a brand or a product.

Though Facebook is having more users in India but Twitter is having more interactive TG and thus, ‘Hashtag promotion’ is definitely more successful there. Another thing is that, using a Hashtag can be done by a brand or a general user on Facebook but then Facebook do not provide a ‘Trend’ window where users can view the most talked about topics, and brands that are competing to bring their brand name at the top.
